Michael has been a residential REALTOR® since 1982 in Colorado Springs, Colorado and has been with ERA Shields Real Estate as a top-producing agent since 1986 and is the Branch Broker for the North office. He works with Sellers and Buyers everyday and is a leader in the Colorado Springs market. He has represented numerous production and custom builders as a Marketing Director and is known as an expert in New Construction.
He believes in giving back to his profession, industry and professional Associations and has served as a Director and President / Chairman of the Board of the Pikes Peak Association of REALTORS®, the largest local Association in Colorado and numerous positions such as a Director, Vice-President, State Treasurer and was President of the Colorado Association of REALTORS® with over 27,500 members in 2006. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of REALTORS® and will be the Regional Vice-President for NAR in 2012.
He holds the CMIS, CMMS, CRS, CSP, e-PRO and GRI designations. He was recognized by the Colorado Springs Business Journal as one of the “Top 25 Most Influential People in Colorado Springs Real Estate” and by Broker Associate Magazine as “Broker of the Month”. In 2007, Michael was honored as “REALTOR® of the Year” for PPAR with nearly 4,000 members and received the highest honor given and named “REALTOR® of the Year” for the entire state by the Colorado Association of REALTORS® in 2009.
Married to wife Laurie for 25 years, their passion is following and attending Formula 1 racing events all over the world. They have 2 cats and being from a large family have over 60 nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. They sponsor Cadets from the US Air Force Academy and through that program have several special relationships and treat them as though they were their own children, some now serving our country all over the world.
